Tom Crawford scored the winning goal for Altrincham against his former side Hartlepool United. The captain's 81st-minute strike secured a 2-1 victory at home on Wednesday night.
Crawford spoke to Alty TV after the final whistle. "Skipper Tom Crawford talks to Alty TV's Tom Jolley after scoring the winning goal against his former side," he said.
The result continues a strong run of form for the Robins, who have now won four of their last five matches. That sequence has lifted them to 12th place in the National League table, with 12 points from their opening eight fixtures.
Kyle Hemmings had earlier given Altrincham the lead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute, but Hartlepool's Joe Miley levelled just before half-time. Crawford's late intervention, assisted by Liam Humbles, sealed the three points. The team's next challenge is detailed on the club's fixtures page.
With the win, Altrincham close the gap to the league leaders to eight points as they build momentum in the early season.
