Altrincham secured a comfortable 3-0 home win over AFC Hornchurch on Saturday. The victory, built on a late first-half goal and a quick second-half double, moves the Robins up to eighth place in the National League with 18 points from 10 games.

Sam Taylor broke the deadlock deep into first-half stoppage time, finishing from an Alex Barlow assist. Charlie Kirk then made it 2-0 just nine minutes after the restart, set up by Kyle Reddin. Jimmy Knowles added a third goal three minutes later to put the result beyond doubt.

Daryl McMahon’s side had to manage an early setback when Liam Humbles was forced off with an injury inside the opening 10 minutes. Alfie Massey was handed his debut in midfield as part of two changes from the side that beat Scunthorpe United. The visitors also lost their captain, Tom Wraight, to injury before the break.

Goalkeeper Andy Firth made a sharp late save to preserve the clean sheet, with defender Jake Cooper also clearing a header off the line. The win extends Altrincham’s current winning run to three matches ahead of a trip to face 24th-placed Gateshead on Tuesday.
