Altrincham secured a vital 2-1 away win over Yeovil Town in the National League on Saturday, with two second-half goals turning the game around. The victory lifts the Robins to sixth in the table with 24 points from 13 games, keeping them firmly in the play-off picture. Their record now stands at eight wins and five losses from those 13 matches.
Yeovil took the lead after 14 minutes through Powell, who finished after an assist from Barker. Altrincham struggled to find a rhythm in the first half, with Barnes and Barlow both receiving yellow cards.
Second-half surge
The visitors improved after the break and found an equaliser in the 69th minute. Farrell provided the cross for Kirk to head home. Manager Phil Parkinson then introduced Dennis from the bench, and the substitute made an immediate impact. With just a minute of normal time remaining, Dennis found the net to complete the comeback.
The match ended in a flurry of cards, with Yeovil's Radcliffe shown a red card in added time. Altrincham's recent form now reads three wins, one draw and one loss from their last five matches, a run that includes a 6-2 victory over United of Manchester. They are currently on a two-game winning run. They have scored 20 goals this season while conceding 19, giving them a goal difference of plus one.
Parkinson's side now prepare for a quick turnaround, hosting 11th-placed Kidderminster Harriers at Moss Lane on Tuesday night. That fixture takes place on Tuesday 27 October. The win at Huish Park leaves Altrincham 11 points behind league leaders Boreham Wood.
