Altrincham have signed striker Kane Hemmings on a free transfer. Manager Neil Gibson believes the experienced forward can make an immediate impact for the Robins.
"Altrincham boss Neil Gibson believes experienced striker Kane Hemmings can make an immediate impact after arriving at the Robins on a free transfer," he said.
The move comes after Altrincham's 3-1 away defeat to Boreham Wood on Tuesday. Jimmy Knowles gave Altrincham the lead in the 26th minute, latching onto a long ball and rounding goalkeeper Ted Curd to score. Boreham Wood equalised through Chris Bush in the 56th minute, Ben Whitfield added a second in the 73rd, and Danny Cashman sealed the win in the 89th.
That result leaves Altrincham sixth in the National League with 21 points from 12 games. Their recent form reads LWWWW, with four wins from their last five matches. The squad, sitting 11 points behind leaders Boreham Wood, will look to Hemmings for a boost ahead of that game.
