Altrincham has signed young defender Reuben Lopata-White on loan from Leeds United. The 20-year-old centre-back has joined Altrincham on a temporary deal until January. He has become the third player to be loaned out by Leeds this summer, following Charlie Crew and Harry Gray out of the door.

Leeds United have loaned young defender Reuben Lopata-White to National League outfit Altrincham. The 20-year-old has featured regularly for the Whites at under-21 level and was part of the under-18s side that reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2024.

Altrincham boss Neil Gibson said: "We're really excited to get Reuben into the building, he's come highly recommended to us as a player who fits the profile of defenders we want at Alty. "He's quick, athletic, competitive and looks to defend on the front foot. He's got a lot of potential and we're really looking forward to work with him."

Lopata-White added: "I'm really pleased to have joined Alty and I'm excited to get started with training and playing games. I'm looking forward to getting to know my teammates and playing in front of the fans." Altrincham is currently 20th in the National League with 0 points from 1 game, 3 points behind leaders Harrogate Town. They have a next fixture against Gateshead on 16 February 2027 at home.

The centre-half heads to Greater Manchester after enjoying a productive loan spell in the Scottish second tier last campaign with Greenock Morton. Gaining important experience in the senior game, the defender featured eight times in the Scottish Championship, as well as playing for the Whites' Under-21s side in the EFL Trophy and National League Cup prior to that. The 20-year-old will now spend the coming months at the J. Davidson Stadium and is eligible to make his debut in their weekend fixture against Sutton United. Everyone at Leeds United would like to wish Reuben well during his time away from the club.
